It all began in 2017 when I turned my garage into my workshop and started Meghan’s Collection!
how it’s made
find the right piece of wood
New and old pieces of wood can be found in my workshop! My favorite wood to work with is re-purposed from either an old barn, a fellow woodworker’s shop or from an old picture frame. It’s fun to see an old piece of wood take on a new life!
Turn on the scroll saw
After I find the right piece of wood to work with, I pick out a pattern to trace out my design and start cutting it out with my saw! My Dad taught me how to use a scroll saw and once I got my own…I was hooked!
get out the brushes
Once the piece is cut out, I turn on the sander and prepare it for paint! I mainly paint with shades of blue and teal and often pick my paint colors based on their name…which are beachy themed. Once the paint dries, the piece gets sanded for a distressed finish.
